The «Bucovina» variety was created during the national apricot improvement program. Work was carried out with the aim of increasing yield and plant adaptability to regional climatic conditions.
In scientific research, the variety was studied for resistance to pathogens, including Plum pox virus, Cytospora cincta, and Stigmina carpophilla. Fruit characteristics include indicators of flesh juiciness.
