The variety is of South Italian origin and belongs to traditional local varieties of the Campania region. The trees are characterized by moderate vigor and late flowering, which reduces the risk of damage from spring frosts. The variety is self-fertile and when grown in intensive orchards is often grafted onto rootstocks to control growth intensity.

The fruits have an elliptic-oval shape and are of medium size. The skin color is yellow-orange, often with a red blush or spots. The flesh is uniformly orange in color, juicy, with a pronounced aroma. During cultivation, the variety is noted for its susceptibility to Monilia.
