The variety is a seedling from the Eastern Pyrenees region. The tree is vigorous, strong-growing, reaches a height of 5–6 meters, and is self-fertile. The variety is suitable for cultivation in cool regions due to late flowering in April and good adaptability to various soils provided there is drainage.
The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, drying, and processing. Harvesting takes place in August. The plant has good tolerance to Plum pox virus; however, premature fruit drop is possible on dry soils, and tissue incompatibility at the graft union is possible when using certain rootstocks.
