The Tardif de Tain variety is a mutation of the Bergeron variety. The tree reaches a height of about 5 meters. The variety is self-fertile and is distinguished by late flowering, which provides high resistance to spring frosts.

The fruits are large, about 5.5 cm in diameter, orange-yellow in color with reddish spots. The flesh is firm, juicy, and sweet with a slight acidity. The variety has good keeping quality and is suitable for transportation; it is characterized by high yield and general disease resistance.
