The Winter COT tree (selection number WIN 21) is characterized by vigorous growth and high self-fertility. The variety belongs to the late maturity group, ripening approximately 15 days after the Bergeron variety. Due to its very late flowering, the variety is adapted to cold regions, however, it requires an increased number of chill hours during the winter period.
The fruits have good size and a balanced flavor. The skin is resistant to rain and mechanical damage during transportation; the ability of the fruits to remain on the tree for a long time is also noted. Due to its productivity and quality characteristics, the variety is suitable for commercial cultivation.
