The tree is vigorous, forming a spreading crown. The leaves are large, and the growing tips of the shoots are light brownish-red in color.
The fruits are characterized by a very large size and a round-heart shape. The fruit skin is dark red, almost black; the flesh is of medium density, dark red in color. The fruit flavor is rated as sweet and mild.
The variety is mid-season and ripens a few days before the Bing variety. The tree is self-incompatible, belongs to pollination group I (S1S2). Productivity is characterized as moderate, winter hardiness is comparable to the Bing variety, and there is moderate susceptibility to fruit cracking from rain.
