The variety was obtained by breeding sour cherry genotypes found in the local flora of Iași County, Romania. The fruits of the variety have an average weight of about 4.1 g and a diameter of 18.0 mm.

The tree has reduced vigor and high productivity. The variety demonstrates resistance to frost with bud damage at the level of 1–9% and high resistance to anthracnose with infection rates of 1.1–2.8%.

Sour cherry fruits are traditionally used in the food industry for making preserves and also have a history of use for medicinal purposes.
