IFG Cher-two
ActivePrunus avium (L.) L. · Sweet cherry
David W.Cain
10 August 2026
The variety is technical and classified as a brandy cherry. Its fruits are small, heart-shaped, and turn almost black at full maturity. The flesh is juicy and very sweet, which makes the variety optimal for the production of schnapps and culinary needs.
The tree is characterized by vigorous growth, longevity, and forms a broad pyramidal crown. Flowering is late, which protects the crop from spring frosts. The variety is high-yielding, resistant to diseases and adverse weather conditions, and suitable for cultivation in cool and high-altitude regions.
The fruits are resistant to cracking in rainy weather and can be harvested by shaking without damage. The variety is a reliable pollinator for other sweet cherry types and a good honey plant, characterized by the absence of pronounced alternate bearing.
