The Bernhard Nette variety, also known as Grafenburger Frühkirsche, is an early-ripening variety belonging to the 2nd–3rd cherry week. The tree is medium-sized, reaching a height of about 550 cm.
The fruits are large, dark red, with firm juicy flesh and a sweet-sour aroma. Due to its early ripening, the variety is less susceptible to damage by the cherry fruit fly. It is used for home gardens and as a pollinator variety, and is included in genetic resource conservation projects.
