The name DURONE NOSTRANO denotes a group of sweet cherry varieties var. duracina, characterized by firm flesh. It is a historically established collection of local varieties distributed in the hilly areas of the Verona province, which do not have a unified breeding history or strict morphological classification.

Fruits of this group are distinguished by a spheroidal shape and shiny skin resistant to damage. Due to the very firm, cartilaginous flesh, they have good keeping quality and transportability. The harvest is used both fresh and for industrial processing into juices, jams, or candied fruits.
