The rootstock is a hybrid of the sour cherry variety «Schattenmorelle» and Prunus cerasus. Trees grafted onto this rootstock reach approximately 60–90% of the size of trees on vigorous rootstocks, with fruiting beginning in the 2nd–3rd year after planting.

The root system of the rootstock requires fertile, well-drained, and regularly irrigated soils, while also adapting well to heavy soils. Root anchorage is medium, so trees often require support in the first years. The rootstock has moderate resistance to a number of viruses and bacterial canker, but is sensitive to water stress and fungal infections.
