The hybrid is a breeding product based on Prunus cerasus and Prunus canescens. Trees grafted onto this rootstock reach approximately 40–50% of the height of plants on seed rootstocks. The rootstock promotes early bearing, often from the second year after planting, and high yields.

The plant requires a permanent support or trellis due to the characteristics of the root system. It adapts well to winter hardiness, but is demanding of soils: it prefers fertile and well-moistened sites, as it has low drought tolerance. It does not produce root suckers.

In commercial fruit growing, it is used to create high-density orchards, which facilitates harvesting and crown maintenance. If overloaded with fruit, crop regulation and pruning may be required to maintain fruit size and shoot vigor. The rootstock is compatible with most modern sweet cherry varieties.
