The GOMILIČKA variety is a traditional local variety grown mainly in home gardens in Croatia. The plant shows a high fruit-setting capacity and possesses a long effective pollination period of about 11 days.
Genetically, the variety is self-incompatible (S2S3); for successful fruiting, it requires pollinator varieties such as Starking Hardy Giant or Isabella. Primary scientific work with the variety is focused on studying its genetic profile, flowering biology, and preservation as an object of local biodiversity.
