The variety was obtained from a population of seedlings grown from seeds of Canadian origin. Trees are characterized by medium vigor and early entry into the fruiting period, providing regular yields.
Fruits are of medium size weighing 5.5–6 grams, have a heart-shaped form and dark red skin. The flesh of the fruit is red, juicy, of medium firmness, and aromatic. The variety ripens in early terms, approximately simultaneously with the Burlat variety.
The plant exhibits moderate susceptibility to bacterial canker and low resistance to cherry leaf spot (Blumeriella jaapii), and is also noted for susceptibility to black cherry aphid infestation.
