In agronomic publications, the name Lion Heart in relation to the sweet cherry crop refers to the variety Volovsko srce. This variety has a number of historical synonyms in various languages, including Bigarreau Coeuret, Popovka and Ochsenherzkirsche.

Information on biological traits, yield and resistance of the crop should be sought under the original variety name Volovsko srce, as the name Lion Heart is more frequently used to designate lily or tomato varieties.
