Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a local cultivar historically developed in the Taurasi area. The harvest ripens in the period from the end of May to mid-June. Genetic studies have identified the S3S12 self-incompatibility type in the variety.

The fruits are of medium size, have an intense red color, and have soft, juicy flesh. The variety is intended for universal use: fresh consumption and processing into jams, juices, syrups, and alcoholic beverages.

The plant adapts to various conditions, however, the fruits are prone to cracking during heavy rainfall in the ripening period. The variety is susceptible to pests characteristic of sweet cherries, such as the cherry fruit fly.
