The variety is a traditional local landrace grown in agricultural collections. Genetically, it is characterized by the presence of S-alleles S3S12. Several scientific studies note its genetic identity to the Iranian variety Noire de Meched, although the possibility of mislabeling of material in collections is admitted.

Data on agronomic characteristics, such as tree height or ripening dates, are unavailable. The variety shows susceptibility to the cherry fruit fly. The aroma of the fruit of this variety is traditionally used as a reference when describing the organoleptic properties of local wines from the Taurasi zone.
