Marchiana is an ancient autochthonous variety originating from the Pisa province, Tuscany. It is a traditional ecotype representing the historical biological diversity of the region, not a product of modern breeding.

Fruits ripen in early June. They are medium-sized, spheroid in shape, with bright red skin and pink flesh. The fruits belong to the "bigarreau" type and are distinguished by their firmness, crunchy texture, and pronounced aroma. The variety is intended for fresh consumption.
