The tree of the variety reaches a height of 6–10 meters and has an expanded crown, which becomes more flattened with age. Fruit ripening occurs on June 20.

The fruits have a heart shape and a dark red, almost black color. The flesh of the fruits is red, juicy, and firm, which makes them suitable for both fresh consumption and processing into jams, syrups, and liqueurs.

The variety is self-incompatible and sensitive to spring frosts. Suitable pollinators for it are the varieties Bigarreau Moreau, Durone di Vignola I, and Durone di Vignola II.
