The tree of this variety is vigorous. The fruits are of medium or small size and have a dark brown, almost black color. The flesh is tender, soft, and sweet, with abundant colored juice. By their texture, the fruits belong to the guigne group, which distinguishes them from the firmer varieties of the bigarreau group.

The variety is classified as mid-early or mid-late; harvesting usually falls in mid-July. Sensitivity to shot-hole disease and pests is noted. There is conflicting information regarding the fruit's resistance to cracking during rain, and the variety has limited distribution.
