IFG Cher-two
ActivePrunus avium (L.) L. · Sweet cherry
David W.Cain
10 August 2026
The variety is characterized by a medium- to vigorous-growing tree, suitable for spindle-shaped crown formation. The fruits are large, have a long peduncle, and a dark red-brown or black-brown color. The pulp is distinguished by a firm, cartilaginous consistency, aroma, and good flavor. The medium-sized pit is difficult to separate from the pulp.
The variety is late-ripening, with fruits maturing from July to August, approximately three weeks after the Burlat variety. It is self-incompatible and belongs to the S3S12 incompatibility group, therefore requiring cross-pollination by varieties such as Canada Giant, Van, Kordia, Hedelfinger, or Regina. It shows some susceptibility to Monilinia.
