The tree is vigorous; in its youth, the crown is upright, becoming more spreading with age. The fruits are large, light yellow in color with a red blush on the sunny side. The flesh is light, juicy and firm; the juice is colorless.

The variety is self-incompatible and requires the presence of pollinators, such as Black Tartarian. The fruits are susceptible to cracking during rain, are easily damaged during transport, and attract birds due to their light color. The variety is historically used for canning, the production of candied fruits, and maraschino cherries.
