The medium-sized fruits have a harmonious sweet taste with a slight acidity and are intended both for fresh consumption and for processing. The crop ripens in the 5th cherry week, which corresponds to the first half of July.

The tree is vigorous, forming a broad, moderately dense crown. The plant height is determined by the rootstock: on vigorous rootstocks it reaches 4.5–6 meters, on dwarf rootstocks — 3–4 meters. The variety is characterized by a mid-early flowering period in April and high frost resistance.

The variety is self-incompatible. Suitable pollinators for it are the varieties Hedelfinger Riesenkirsche and Schneiders Späte Knorpelkirsche. The Spansche Knorpelkirsche variety itself can also act as a pollinator for other varieties.
