The Verknė variety is officially registered as a sour cherry and is not classified as a sweet cherry. There is also a Kentucky bluegrass variety under the same name, which requires clarification when selecting seedlings.

Information regarding morphological traits, such as tree height or ripening dates, is extremely scarce in public sources. The variety is being studied by specialists in the context of resistance to pathogens of the genus Monilinia.
