Ujfehertoi furtos
ActivePrunus cerasus L. · Sour cherry
Ujfehertoi Gyumolcstermesztesi Kutato, H
10 August 2026
The variety was obtained by crossing 'Köröser' with the hybrid 'Fanal' × 'Kelleriis 16'. The tree has moderate vigor and forms a neat crown with slightly drooping fruit-bearing branches; fruiting occurs primarily on short shoots of perennial wood.
Fruit ripening occurs in mid-July. The cherries are large, weighing 8–9 g, oblate in shape, with glossy, firm, and elastic skin that turns black-red upon ripening. The flesh is juicy, with a high content of dry matter.
The variety possesses genetic resistance to Monilinia and good tolerance to adverse weather conditions. Due to its self-fertility, it ensures stable fruiting and can serve as a pollinator for other sour and sweet cherry varieties.
