Carmelitana Gialla is an ancient landrace variety preserved through local gardening traditions. The variety's name is linked to its ripening period, which coincides with the feast of Madonna del Carmine.
The fruits are small, weighing 30–50 g, with an oblong shape and a depression at the apex. The skin is smooth, golden-yellow with a waxy bloom, and the flesh is yellowish. The peduncle is short, and the suture is barely visible.
Trees of this variety can reach heights of up to 5 meters. The variety is characterized by high adaptability to the local climatic conditions of the region.
