The Carmelitana Rossa tree reaches a height of 5 meters and has a highly branched crown with a shrubby habit. The bark on the trunk is grayish-brown and deeply fissured; young branches are smooth, light-colored, and sparsely pubescent.
The fruits weigh 40–50 g and have an oblong shape with a slight depression at the apex. The skin is smooth, purple-violet with a red hue, covered with a bloom and noticeable medium-sized lenticels. The fruit flesh is yellowish and of medium consistency.
The variety is of early or medium maturity, with the harvest taking place in July-August. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and for various types of processing, including jams, preserves, and liqueurs.
