The variety has a historical distribution in the Monti Dauni mountain area, particularly between the towns of Orsara di Puglia and Bovino. The fruits were traditionally consumed fresh and had the ability to store for several weeks after harvest. It is sometimes classified as a “Syrian plum”.
The fruits are very small, weighing 20–30 g, and have an obovate shape with a flattened apex. The skin is smooth, green-yellow in color, without a blush, and covered with a pruinose bloom. The suture line is light and clearly defined, the peduncle is short, and the stalk cavity is narrow and shallow.
