This variety is a selected seedling of Prunus domestica, which in modern practice is used exclusively as a rootstock for peach, nectarine, apricot, and plum varieties. Trees on this rootstock are distinguished by moderate growth vigor and contribute to an increase in the yield of the varieties grafted onto them.
Among the features of the rootstock is a high capacity for propagation by root cuttings; however, during cultivation, it shows a tendency to produce a large amount of root suckers. Noted disadvantages include sensitivity to moisture deficiency, which leads to a reduction in growth vigor, and a susceptibility to leaf scorch.
