The tree is of medium height, reaching 4–5 meters, with a light crown and branches without thorns directed steeply upwards. The fruits are small, about 2.5 cm long, and have an elongated shape with a pointed tip.
The fruit pulp is soft, moderately juicy and sweet, resembling a mirabelle in taste. The skin and the pit easily separate from the pulp. The fruits ripen early, starting from mid-July, but are characterized by very poor keeping quality.
The plant possesses good frost resistance and is undemanding to soil types, with the exception of waterlogged areas. Varieties of the Spilling group are self-fertile and are characterized by regular yields.
