Variety description

10 August 2026

The Genova variety is an old local cultivar known in Italy as Genova giallo-verde. The tree is characterized as hardy and low-maintenance, possesses disease resistance, and is self-fertile, requiring no cross-pollinators.

The fruits of this variety ripen late, around September 15. They are of medium to medium-large size, round-ovate in shape, and have semi-firm sweet flesh from which the stone separates easily. The fruits are versatile in use: suitable for fresh consumption, drying, and freezing.
