The fruits are large, round in shape, and dark blue in color. The flesh is characterized by juiciness, a pronounced aroma, and a sweet spicy taste; the stone separates from the flesh well. Harvesting begins in mid-July, and ripening is uneven, which requires picking over an extended period.
Trees bloom in May and are susceptible to damage by late spring frosts. The plant is capable of self-pollination, but yields are increased by the presence of pollinator varieties. The variety prefers sunny, sheltered locations and fertile, light, moist soils. In some cases, the tree exhibits compactness, allowing for container cultivation.
In scientific literature, the variety is examined in the context of research on the elimination of viral pathogens, including Prunus necrotic ringspot virus and Apple chlorotic leaf spot virus, from planting material.
