The 'Madame' variety, originally known as 'Madeleine', belongs to the group of dwarf domestic plum varieties. The plant was created during a breeding program aimed at obtaining winter-hardy varieties for the Swedish climate.
The variety is a specialized development for intensive orchards, adapted for cultivation on its own roots. Specific indicators for ripening periods and disease resistance are not presented in the description.
