The Miroval rootstock was obtained in 1982 through hybrid selection based on a local biotype of Prunus cerasifera. The object has a well-developed root system and is characterized by a high level of rooting of hardwood cuttings, reaching 86–92%.
It is used for grafting Prunus domestica varieties, ensuring they have high growth vigor and contributing to high yields. It shows good compatibility with a number of European plum varieties, including Stanley, Centenar and others. Studies confirm the resistance of this genotype to Plum pox virus.
