The variety is considered an ancient Danish variety from the Haderslev region. The name "Rosinblomme" translates as "raisin plum" due to the possibility of drying the fruits to obtain a product with characteristics of a raisin. In genetic studies, the "Gul Rosinblomme" variety is considered a possible synonym for the "Herrenhauser Mirabelle" variety.
The fruits are small and oval-shaped. The classic variant is characterized by a red-purple color, while the "Gul Rosinblomme" form has yellow fruits. The taste of the fruits is sweet with a distinct spicy aftertaste. The main purpose of the variety is drying and various types of preservation.
