The variety is a historical European cultivar first described in 1842 in Transylvania and known in Switzerland as «Gelbe aus Oltingen». The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and reaches a large size.
The fruits have an oblong-oval shape, the skin is colored yellow or dark yellow, often with red dots or a characteristic blush, and peels easily. The yellow flesh is distinguished by high juiciness and a sweet taste with a distinct acidity; the pit separates from the flesh almost completely.
The variety ripens in late August — early September. The fruits are versatile in use, suitable for fresh consumption, making compotes, and baking.
