The fruits are medium or medium-large in size, round or oval in shape, and covered with a violet-red skin with a bloom. The flesh of the fruit is greenish-yellow, juicy, and melting; the stone is of the clingstone type (does not separate easily).
The variety belongs to the late-maturing category. Historically used as a market variety, in modern practice it is more often found in collections of heirloom varieties for the preservation of biodiversity.
