The tree of this variety forms a spreading canopy and is distinguished by a mid-late flowering period. The variety is self-compatible, which allows it to bear fruit without cross-pollination.
The fruits have a semi-soft shell with a kernel yield of about 43 percent, although the variety is sometimes classified as a hard-shell type. Large elliptical kernels weigh about 1.6 grams and have a high percentage of double kernels, ranging from 10 to 20 percent.
The fruits are widely used in the food industry, including the production of desserts and marzipan. Scientific research is also exploring the potential for processing by-products of the variety, such as skins and shells, to create functional additives and materials.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
