The variety is a seedling of the variety «Northland», selected in the state of Utah, and according to some data, originates from open pollination of the variety «Nonpareil». The tree is distinguished by winter hardiness, a medium-late flowering period, and a medium-ripening period for fruits. The pollination type is self-incompatible; fruiting occurs on annual shoots and spurs.
The fruits have an elongated shape and a large size of about 1.5 g; the kernel surface is wrinkled, and the color is intermediate. The nut shell can vary from soft to hard. One of the key features of the variety is a high percentage of double kernels, amounting to 35–40%.
