The variety is intended for use as a rootstock, not for nut production. It is valued for its hardiness and adaptability to growth in poor soils with high lime content.
As an almond genotype, the variety possesses the property of full self-sterility and requires the presence of pollinator varieties for fruit set. Seedlings of the variety may show sensitivity to nematodes, as well as to fungal and bacterial diseases.
