The tree reaches a height of 3.5–5 to 6–8 meters and has a spreading or upright crown. Flowering occurs in March–April with white flowers, sometimes with a red tint. The variety is self-fertile and is characterized by increased frost resistance, allowing for cultivation in northern latitudes.
The fruits are medium-sized, oval-shaped, with a brown shell and sweet taste. The harvest period falls between the end of September and mid-October. The variety name refers to the thin shell, which is easy to crack.
The plant is used both for harvesting and as an ornamental tree. When planting in climatic zones with cold winters, it is recommended to use seedlings grafted onto a cold-hardy rootstock.
