The tree is of medium size with a spreading canopy and moderate vigor. The variety belongs to the mid-late maturity group and has a medium to late flowering period. The plant is self-incompatible; Marcona, Nonpareil, and Peerless are recommended as pollinizers.
The nuts have a semi-soft shell, accounting for 40–50% of the weight, with a kernel yield of about 46%. The kernels are oblong or ovoid, medium-sized (about 1.2 g), with a smooth surface and light color. A characteristic feature is a high percentage of double kernels, ranging from 10% to 30%.
The variety is highly susceptible to fungal diseases, such as brown rot and green fruit rot. Historically, the variety was used in commercial horticulture and breeding, acting as a parent form for other varieties.
