Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety originates from the Upper Var region in France and has the synonyms Petite Verte and Verdiere. The nut kernels have an elliptical or elongated shape, their average weight is about 1.1 g, and the occurrence of double kernels is very rare.

The main biological feature of the variety is extremely late flowering, which allows the plant to avoid the effects of spring frosts. The variety is self-incompatible and requires cross-pollination, and it requires about 358 chilling units to break dormancy.
