The VERDERETA tree has an upright or spreading crown shape and is characterized by high growth vigor, being well adapted to the conditions of Mallorca. The variety is self-incompatible and carries S22S23 alleles. Fruiting occurs mainly on annual shoots and spurs.

The almond kernels of this variety are round in shape and small in size with an average weight of about 1.1 g. The surface of the kernel is deeply wrinkled. The percentage of double kernels is about 8%. The hard shell provides a kernel yield of 32%.
