The variety is an evergreen shrub used in ornamental gardening. In official documentation, the variety may also appear under the trade name «prunus elegant».

This variety is distinguished by high resistance to leaf shot-hole disease (Stigmina carpophila) compared to other varieties of Prunus laurocerasus.
