The plant is a densely branched shrub with a broad-upright habit, reaching a height of 1.5–2.5 meters. The leathery dark green leaves have a broad-elliptic shape and a length of 8–11 cm. A distinctive feature is the young shoots and leaves, which are colored copper or bronze-red in the spring.

In May-June, the variety blooms with small white fragrant flowers gathered in upright racemes. By August, fruits in the form of violet-black drupes ripen. The plant grows moderately or slowly (20–30 cm per year) and tolerates pruning, drought, and heat well.

The variety possesses increased frost resistance, is adapted to hardiness zone 7a, and withstands temperatures down to -24…-28°C. It is used for sheared and free-growing hedges, as well as for cultivation in containers.
