The variety Grpl18 is an ornamental shrub suitable for creating hedges or landscape clusters. The plant is characterized by a compact and sturdy structure; the crown has a spherical shape. Five years after planting, the height of the bush is from 0.8 to 1.0 meters, and the parameters of a mature plant can reach 3.0–5.0 meters in height with a width of 1.5–2.0 meters.

The leaves of the plant are green and have a moderately concave cross-section. The variety possesses high disease resistance and withstands temperature drops down to -25 °C. Information regarding flowering is contradictory: a number of publications indicate the absence of flowering, while other sources mention the presence of white flowers.
