The variety was obtained by crossing an unnamed selection and form A48-70. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and forms an upright crown. Ripening dates in the San Joaquin Valley occur from October 7 to October 13.
Large fruits have a yellow-orange skin ground color, covered with a dark red blush on 40–70% of the surface. The pit in the fruits is difficult to separate from the flesh, which classifies the variety in the clingstone group.
