The variety is a local traditional cultivar widespread in the Murcia region. In botanical classification, it belongs to the PYN (Peach, Yellow flesh, Non-melting flesh) type, which defines it as a pubescent peach with yellow non-melting flesh.
In terms of ripening time, the variety is characterized as early relative to many late Spanish varieties. In historical phytosanitary studies of the 1970s, low susceptibility of the fruits of this variety to the Mediterranean fruit fly was noted.
