The rootstock possesses high growth energy, promoting rapid development of grafted trees. It is characterized by good tolerance to calcareous soils with high pH, as well as the ability to tolerate conditions of limited irrigation. At the same time, it is sensitive to heavy soils with poor aeration and a high water table, where there is a risk of root asphyxia.
The plant possesses good resistance to Plum pox virus and moderate resistance to root-knot nematodes, however, it is sensitive to bacterial canker, Phytophthora, and root rot. It is used primarily for peach, nectarine, and almond, including in areas with signs of soil fatigue. Propagation on an industrial scale is carried out using the in vitro tissue culture method.
